{"id":1395,"date":"2025-05-08T07:32:49","date_gmt":"2025-05-08T07:32:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jbrollo.com\/?p=1395"},"modified":"2025-05-08T15:47:41","modified_gmt":"2025-05-08T15:47:41","slug":"wrap-launches-uk-textiles-pact-as-part-of-rebrand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jbrollo.com\/index.php\/2025\/05\/08\/wrap-launches-uk-textiles-pact-as-part-of-rebrand\/","title":{"rendered":"WRAP launches UK Textiles Pact as part of rebrand"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-beyondwords-marker=\"49a969a3-825a-4013-afcd-b559b1a82a3e\" data-beyondwords-player=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-96683 size-full lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"UK Textiles Pact\" width=\"860\" height=\"516\" data-src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.circularonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/iStock-1223548020.jpg?resize=860%2C516&amp;ssl=1\"><\/h4>\n<h4>WRAP has announced it is rebranding the voluntary agreement Textiles 2030 into the UK Textiles Pact.<\/h4>\n<p>The name change aligns the UK Textiles Pact with WRAP\u2019s other flagship voluntary agreements, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.circularonline.co.uk\/news\/courtauld-commitment-2030-to-become-uk-food-and-drink-pact\/\">the UK Food &amp; Drink Pact and the UK Plastics Pact<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While the agreement\u2019s name has changed the signatories still commit to a 50% reduction in the overall carbon footprint of new textile products placed on the market, a 30% reduction in the overall water footprint of new textile products placed on the market, and industry collaboration to achieve the Circularity Roadmap ambitions.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in April 2021, Textiles 2030 built on the Sustainable Clothing Action Plan 2020 (SCAP 2020), which came before it.<\/p>\n<p>The Pact is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrap.ngo\/take-action\/uk-textiles-pact\/whos-signed-transform-uk-textiles\">signed by over 130 organisations<\/a> across the fashion and textiles supply chain, as well as trade bodies and charities.<\/p>\n<p><em>WRAP are expanding on the decision, as well as their wider work to reduce textile waste, at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.circulareconomyfestival.com\/programmes\/?utm_source=partner_site&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=MayWRAPArticleCTA\">Festival of Circular Economy 20 May \u2013 22 May<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mark Sumner, Programme Lead, UK Textiles Pact, commented: \u201cFor businesses, membership to the UK Textiles Pact unlocks interaction with WRAP\u2019s team of experts to help solve problems, plus gives access to evidence-based tools, practical resources and collaborative working groups to tackle urgent sustainability challenges facing the textiles sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe UK Textiles Pact is a collaborative, non-competitive and trusted network underpinned by innovation, expertise and collective determination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Environment Secretary Steve Reed reaffirmed the UK Government\u2019s support of the Pact while addressing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.circularonline.co.uk\/news\/environment-secretary-to-set-out-circular-economy-plan\/\">industry stakeholders in March about the Circular Economy Taskforce<\/a>, stating that part of its strategy for textiles would involve leveraging the \u2018Textiles 2030\u2019 initiative.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.circulareconomyfestival.com\/programmes\/?utm_source=partner_site&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=MayCOFOCEBanner\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-453669 size-full lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"\" width=\"860\" height=\"106\" data-src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.circularonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/CIWM-394-FOCE-25-Leaderboard-728x90px-scaled.jpg?resize=860%2C106&amp;ssl=1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.circularonline.co.uk\/news\/wrap-launches-uk-textiles-pact-as-part-of-rebrand\/\">WRAP launches UK Textiles Pact as part of rebrand<\/a> appeared first on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.circularonline.co.uk\">Circular Online<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 WRAP has announced it is rebranding the voluntary agreement Textiles 2030 into the UK Textiles Pact.
